That’s true for all of the “heroes” of the Bible. There is no one who is righteous, except Jesus the Christ. His is the only perfect life, and the only one worthy of praise. Is it comforting that even a “godly man” like David stumbled? Yes; if it points us to our need for a Savior. Without a Savior, David’s stumble is depressing. Where is our hope if even David, a man after God’s own heart, can’t be right with God? Our hope is in Jesus Christ.
